Evan and I had a fun first part of the week in Indianapolis, before Thanksgiving. It worked out well, because my Mom was in Chicago and could drive us down to Indy. We only have one car and with Eric needing to work Mon-Wed, this was ideal. He and Steve drove down on Wed afternoon after they were done working. Evan took a few days to transition to this new environment at Nana and Grandpa's, but by Tuesday he was getting settled.
Monday, we took a jog over to our friends, the Williams', house (Sahmmy and Bill). It's nice because they live less than a mile from Mom and Dad's, so we can take the stroller. Evan got a few play minutes with Addie Jo and June-bug, but we didn't stay too long, as we didn't want to throw nap schedules completely out-of-whack. Tuesday, we went with Nana to check out the 42nd and College St. library. They have a neat aquarium and fun toddler area. Evan enjoyed it and we made a few friends with some grade school girls who were there, studying after school. Evan really enjoys being social, he just needs a bit of time to warm up to folks. We did have a slight Mommy mishap when we were leaving as I zipped a little bit of Evan up in his coat zipper. Nothing like a baby crying out in pain, in the middle of a library, to make you want to shrink and melt into the carpet.
Wednesday I was able to enjoy a special ladies night dinner with some of my best girlfriends. Lisa, in town, from Birmingham, AL, Connie, Court, Bridge and Sahmmy were all able to steal away from our husbands and kiddos to have some yummy food at Zest. There was much laughter, a few tears and a lot of talking, we didn't even realize that the place was empty and 'closed' at 10p, as we were still sitting there at 10:40. Time with great girlfriends, who you've known for over half your life, is sooo precious and I am most thankful for them and that time with them.
